About Me

My name is Andrew McDaniel, an ML/AI engineer based in the Greater Seattle Area. I attended the University of Washington where I graduated with degrees in Applied Physics and Mathematics. I also hold a degree in Artificial Intelligence from Bellevue College.

Although I'm finished attending school, I still like to learn new things. I've found that the best way to do that is by building, and that is the main purpose of this site. I'm kicking it off with a recipe book made with scans of my own family's recipes. I expect this site will eventually grow to be much more than that, so stay tuned!

How the Site Was Made

I built a Wordpress website a long time ago, but it always felt clunky to use. This time around, I tried building the site with AI tools. So far, Codex has been the main driver of development for the site. Aside from building a new site, Codex has been very helpful in recovering my old posts from Wordpress. Anything you find from 2022 in the Writing tab was imported from my old site with the help of Codex.

The writing on the site has mostly been authored by myself. Since the site was built with AI, there are places where I did not write the text, but I have reviewed it. Personalized text, such as this about page, have been comepletely authored by myself. Some text, such as the contact form are almost completely AI generated. I've taken a hybrid approach with the technical writing. A lot of the backend I am capable of explaining myself, but it is often easier to iterate on the explanations with the AI since it builds the diagrams in the technical reports.
